I've just heard of the stand you are making in support of local people, young and old, knowing what's going on in their community and being able to do something about it. It is great to see a Youth Council demanding that elected members and council bureaucrats be accountable to the people they should be serving; brilliant to see you fighting censorship. This is democracy in action. We'll publicise your struggle on our site. Have any youth workers come out publicly in support of your action? Let us know if we can do anything useful.

Bravo, the Salford Youth Council! Victory to the Salford Star!

You would think that the council would be interested in the thoughts and opinions of local people , I suppose it is far to cost effective a way of gauging grass roots feelings , thoughts , dreams and aspirations of local people .

I hope that funding can be restored to such a valued publication. Truth dies first when officials want to hide the facts that should be in the public domain. How can anyone vote not knowing the whole truth is beyond me, and its no wonder the youth of the country don't bother getting there names onto the electoral register. Democracy is in danger, thats why a paper such as this is of the most important value in exposing all to public scrutiny. I write for an online publication eastleighnews.org.uk which try's to do much the same. Best of Luck to you all.

Laughable, the Advertiser and M.E.N execs are denying they even sent this out now! This article and the comments below say otherwise: http://www.how-do.co.uk/north-west-media-news/north-west-publishing/major-changes-in-the-pipeline-for-men-free-weekly-titles?-201001257284/ and it isn't just Salford but also their Tameside, Trafford, Rochdale, Stockport, Prestwich titles. Why are they being so secretive, I thought newspapers were meant to tell the truth or at least explain themselves when people are confused by what they print.

The flier my mother got through her front door with her local paper last week was a glossy colour A3 poster. It must have cost them a lot of money to print so why they'd only send it to certain homes I don't know... bad publicity I guess affecting online revenues?

As for being able to purchase these papers from "QUALITY NEWSAGENTS" we've asked about, no-one sells it or has stopped selling it ages ago.

Come on M.E.N/GMG tell us the real story please.
